Tomorrow we are given the opportunity to exercise one of our constitutional rights… The right to vote. Every two years we have national elections and we make our voices heard on who will guide our nation.
While this is an amazing opportunity and one that many nations do not provide their citizens in America we often take this privilege for granted. On average only 65% of eligible voters actually cast a ballot.
It is this right to vote that allows our voice to be heard. We often complain about what the government is doing and what is happening, but we don’t take the time to vote. The American people need to make use of this opportunity. Following the politics of the people who are running to make the laws of this nation and voting who best represents them is a citizen’s duty.
I am thankful for Gift #19: My right to vote.
